Top 10 LGBT films of 2015

06:37

LGBT or GLBT is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (you probably already knew this, I mean it's 2016, but I'm just putting this here for reference).

2015 was a significant year for the LGBT community and it's acceptance around the world.
In January alone same-sex marriage became legal in Luxembourg and the state of Florida and The Constitutional Court of Austria ruled that same-sex couples have the same right as opposite-sex couples to adopt children. What perhaps was the UK's most publicised event in 2015 to do with LGBT rights took place in June when the Supreme Court in the USA legalised gay and lesbian couples
So, with more worldwide acceptance and equality for the LGBT community, we saw many media displays that represent them. Generally, when you think of romantic movies, you might think of films like 'The Notebook', 'Titanic', 'Notting Hill' and 'About Time'. These all have one thing in common: they focus on a straight couple. But, now, more and more films (not just romantic comedies, I used that as an example just to make a point) involve same-sex couples or bisexual and homosexual characters.
So, to celebrate the new year on my blog, here are the top 10 most popular lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender films from 2015 (according to this link):
