Evaluation question 3: distribution
14:12I have created a video using the online software 'go animate'. To produce this video, I researched romantic dramas and their distributors. I found 'EntertainmentOne', 'StudioCanal UK' and 'Peccadillo Pictures'. I decided that 'Peccadillo Pictures' would be the most likely to distribute my film as they specialise in LGBT romance films, often produced by independent companies. Like my film opening, the majority of films they distribute are small, niche-market films that would appeal to the LGBT community above all.

Please, tell me a little bit more about the company you are representing so I can assess its suitability for the role of the distributors of this film.
Ross Coleman (CEO of StudioCanal UK): My name is Ross Coleman and I am the CEO of StudioCanal. Today I am representing StudioCanal UK, which is a film distributing company working in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The company releases many films, including foreign language films, Studio Ghibli films and independent British, Irish and American films in the United Kingdom and sometimes Ireland. We have distributed the similar LGBT Romantic drama, 'Carol'.

Peccadillo Pictures: Good morning, I am here today to represent Peccadillo Pictures, the UK-based film distributor of art house, gay and lesbian, independent and world cinema. We have distributed hundreds of LGBT films, including 'Appropriate Behaviour' and 'The Way He Looks', both of which featured on the BFI top ten LGBT film list last year. Peccadillo Pictures would be in their element if you choose us to distribute this film, as the vast majority of films we distribute are LGBT romance, they are our speciality.

Entertainment One: Good morning Sir, I am representing Entertainment One today. We are a company which acquires film content rights and distributes these across many territories, including the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. In the UK, we bring an expertise in theatrical and home entertainment distribution. We have distributed romance films such as 'The Notebook' and 'That Awkward Moment'. We are an international media corporation that does not usually distribute independent or LGBT films.
Étoile Filante: After much deliberation, I have decided that Entertainment One would be unsuitable to distribute this film as they are too big of a company and would not distribute a small independent film such as this. It would seem that both Peccadillo Pictures and StudioCanal UK have experience in distributing LGBT films, but Peccadillo Pictures specialises in British romances like this. Therefore, the decision has been made for Peccadillo Pictures to distribute this film and they have extensive specialist experience in distributing similar genres.
